reception class and autism

So I was looking at a thread earlier and can't find it anywhere now...
It spoke about children with autism and being in a reception classroom, I currently have a little boy (aged 5) in a reception classroom and its good to see people are going through the same problems/experiences.
My little boy seems lost when he enters the environment, unsure of where he is supposed to be or what is going to happen in the day.
The teacher seems to be lacking in knowledge about autism and relies heavily on his one to one support. Is this something others find?
Does anyone have an autistic child that doesn't have support? how do they deal with it? My boy really enjoys computers and number work, he doesn't seem to benefit from the free flow environment, what are other peoples experiences of this? Do you feel supported as parents? Do you think your child enjoys school?

It's been moved to media requests section.

DS seems to love the free flow environment, he would happily play all day on his own terms. Not sure how beneficial that is to his progress though.
