What do I do about dinkys current school?

Part of me is so angry at the way we were treated (for those who haven't seen my post about current school... All well and good with them or so I thought until I was ambushed by the HT and play therapist and told that 2 schools, with not so good reps "would be better equipped to deal with families like yours!" which is fine if they had no sen provision, and they actually thought this was the case. However a lad I know in the year above got everything but the kitchen sink handed to him on a plate (17.5 hours 1:1 with no statement, EP, proper contact book (his mum laughed at dinkys). wheras dinky has had no support apart from 1hr play therapy once a week, and the senco/deputy being called into the classroom everytime dinky has a meltdown or runs off and hides. They instigated a CAF then sabotaged it by playing down dinkys behaviour and saying it is all housing related. Which they know is rubbish as the Playgroup couldn't get her to do anything either and the housing issue was right at the end of Playgroup. That 'meeting' was full of contradictions and all covered in some fantastic flowery scented bull that made out like I was a bad mother for considering keeping her somewhere that she enjoyed, even though it was only one room, and not considering that the area the school is in is not a social housing area and the other two schools are situated in predominantly social housing areas with other families like ours! They say the school I have actually got dinky into now has a great sen provision and a full time senco but say she will be fine once she settles in the new house. Hmm )

Basically I have been made to feel we are not good enough for their school. I have a form which twice I got so annoyed I wrote what the HT said as the form has to go to the LEA, but have had second thoughts about handing it in. I have a voicemail from the senco/deputy head asking for a chat about the TAC meeting I asked to cancel in writing, and about dinkys transfer. They still (as far as I know) dont know dinky has been referred to the paed from both the referral they wrote to family link worker service and the GP managing partner who has met dinky and had to try and stop her wrecking the room as dinky didn't want to be there and refused to talk to the GP, she did once but only by using her Simba as a puppet.
I have met one of the governors a few times and am very tempted to explain why my child is leaving the school.
I also feel like keeping the TAC and making it very clear why we will have to change lead professionals after just one TAC as the school have made their stance quite clear.

Do I go all out to make the school feel like crap, or do I leave it seeing as dinky is moving schools anyway and it won't change a thing?

Thanks in advance... Sorry it was long...

Gosh I really don't know. I see so many stories on here where schools have treated like dirt and parents have felt it's better to walk away than make a fuss, but at the same time, this means that schools continue to get away with it. Not sure. Don't do anything that makes you vulnerable. Maybe write to the schools and governors about how you feel. Personally, the governors and senior staff at my school seem to be a very close knit unit and I can't imagine them ever taking my side. Not sure, hopefully others will have better or more concrete advice for you.

Hi DM I was one of those who had to walk away. I wanted to complain and did write to OFSTED and the Sec of state for Education. They both rejected my complaint because I hadnt followed the correct procedure Hmm

I spoke to a very sensible ex TA from the old school who advised me not to waste any more energy on the old school and to save it for Dd3. It was good advice so I walked away and Dd3 hasnt looked back.

Good luck whatever you decide Smile

I have only had bad experiences with complaints to schools and governors. Everything has always been denied and I have been advised that 'there is no evidence' of this, that and the other. Governors will always defend the school and their staff so I think you'd find it very difficult to get anywhere with a complaint. It's hard to walk away from injustice but as Ineed says it's very much a waste of energy.
