I'm looking to find some books on ASD's, in both younger preschool age DC's, right up to older teenagers and young adults.

I'm particularly interested in anything ABA related, and also any books that give specific techniques for reducing anxieties in DC's with ASD's, and preventing meltdowns.

Ability to be bought on Kindle would be good, but not essential.

Titles and specific Authors to look for would be appreciated.

Books on techniques to deal with PDA would be helpful too - especially as I feel that's where DD and DS1's main difficulties lie now.

here and I am about to read this following a recommendation from the author of the 1st book. He has recently done an extensive assessment of DS. I know the 2nd may be irrelevant.

Others on my list of what to read are: The explosive child and the one thats always mentioned by schramm. However hopefully this thread may end up a long list of useful reads.

Great idea for a thread- I am a big reader of parenting books Grin
I agree, The Explosive Child by Ross Greene is very good for PDA www.amazon.co.uk/The-Explosive-Child-Understanding-Chronically/dp/0061906190/ref=pd_sim_b_1 and I've just seen this which he has also written, they're both on kindle. www.amazon.co.uk/Lost-School-Behavioral-Challenges-Falling/dp/1416572279/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
There is also a website from him www.livesinthebalance.org/about-lives-in-the-balance-and-solving-problems-collaboratively
I have loads of other books that I have read or want to read but I will post about them later when I've got my kindle to hand.

Thank you for all of these. I will get the Explosive Child first, I think. If only I could find my bleeding Kindle...
