It appears that dd has chicken pox.. although we are not sure. She was sent home from nursery today with some 'suspicious' spots - not seen last night when having a bath..... took her to the doctor - who said it was too hard to diagnose but then asked dh and I whether we had had chicken pox.... dh definitely has - I am waiting to call my mum to check....

both dh and I have been scratching on and off all evening no spots on us - just the suggestion.

So now we have to keep madam off nursery for two weeks - if the spots decide to develop further. She does not have that meany - a few in her hair and a few on her tummy and a couple on her neck....

have already stocked up on calamine, piriton, nurofen and calpol....

now just have to work out what to do for two weeks - neither dh nor I can take two weeks off - given the type of jobs we have.... and family are too far away for us to just drop her off.

Oh well -

CP spots turn into little water filled blisters Eidsvold, so look out for that. Then they dry out and scab over - lovely eh? Hope it's all ok.

the doc did say she would no longer be contagious when they scabbed over and basically just to keep an eye on it....

yeh - great... he also did try to see if he could get a vaccination for me - in case I have not had them..... oh joy!!

thanks for that tip Lou - have been keeping an eye on the spots....

strangely she is just as normal - although with four molars coming through bless her

eidsvold-sorry about the dreaded pox but good idea about the pregnant ladies. I had it when I was pregnant with ds1.........absolutely covered in them and spent almost the whole of the next two weeks in the bath trying not to scratch

Ohhh, can I drop Lottie off at yours - I really went her to get it so it's out the way!! My friends kids had it and Lottie was being looked after by that friend so was around the kids all day for 2 days but didn't get it - gutted. The sooner and younger she is when she gets it the better as far as I'm concerned.

Hope Aliria doesn't suffer to much with it though - bless her.

Hello eidsvold - we have the pox at the moment too. Unusually, my ds caught it from me and it's really horrible to have as an adult so I hope for your sake that you have had it before (although it's still no guarantee as I probably had it in my teens and still got it again). My ds had 1 really awful day with a high fever before the spots came out. Now the spots are out he is much better. I recommend calamine cream rather than the lotion, which is rather drying.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions about your jobs. My dh was lucky and got 2 days compassionate leave when I had it (was too ill to look after ds).

Hope your dd is better soon. Have to go, my ds is demanding attention. It's a bit dreary not being able to go out much isn't it!

well it is for sure - when I arrived home from work today - she has spots all over the place.... face, back, tummy, none on arms of legs though.... but she is spotty... and they seem on the increase. She has not been grumpy or anything - in fact had a lovely day at home with her dad playing etc.

We have managed to take it in turns as to who is off with her... so I get to have a long weekend..... yeh.

But I am still itchy - no spots on me - just suggestion I think
