Hi, I have seen mention of these on the board somewhere but am having a techno numpty day and can't find it again!

DS is 8, has an ASD and is having a crappy time at school. I have a meeting on Tuesday with his teachers (One is just easing back in after a few weeks off aand the other is the long term supply cover). I am pushing for DS to have an IBP. I have asked for this before and been told by the HT he sees no need as DS is 'mostly fine'. I have countered with the piece from the SENCOP about an IEP or IBP being needed if the things school have to do for DS are 'in addition to or different from' normal school stuff.

DS hates school. Every morning is a struggle as he doesn't want to go to school. He doesn't sleep well as he is anxious about school and the more tired he gets the more anxious he becomes and off we go round and round in circles.....

I was hoping to go in armed with a 'passport' type affair as then it might get things across to his maths teacher who seems to believe DS should just conform because, well, he just should.....

DS is scarily bright and I am concerned that he is being turned off learning so I need to do something.....

Add to this DD being a complete pain in the arse and I have had enough.

Hlep!

Ds had one when he was in school (home ed now). They called it a Pupil Profile. If you PM me an email address I can send it to you.

Mind you, nobody ever read it Sad, but you might be luckier.

The DC I used to support had a pupil passport very similar to one of the Leics ones with his photo and a list of strengths and weaknesses, updated each year. It was very useful for transitions between school years, and for supply staff in particular who would never have time to read his statement but a one page passport was ideal.

Thanks all for your help. I ahve them downloaded onto my laptop and I have 2 hours between the end of school tomorrow and the start of parents' evening when I will fiddle so I have something to take to my meeting on Tuesday.

Much appreciated.

Thanks

In our neck of the woods they're called One Page Profiles. They outline what the child is good at, what interests him/her, how best to help and what doesn't help. It's all done in a very positive way.
As someone else has said, getting people to look at it is the key!

(Oh, and we don't bother showing ds his, he always screws them up Hmm. )
