DD2 and her literal brain - I was crying with laughter today.

DD2 said to me 'Happy Mothers' Day!'

I said 'thank you, DD2, but it's Mother's Day on Sunday.'

DD2: 'No Mummy! My school changed Mother's Day to today!'

She is doing a service at the Church at her new school. Obviously, there's no school on Sundays, so they are holding the service today.

DD2, bless her heart, thought that the entire country had changed the day that Mothers' Day is being held. Grin

Very sweet lougle, I love how literal my Dd3 is it is a lovely part of her but it can make life tricky at times.Smile

Ah that's lovely, ds2 had a childrens author in school today for a q&a session, when I picked him up I asked him how did it go...he said it was great I gave him my autograph, I said what do you mean, he told me the author was giving authographs to all the kids and ds felt sorry for him that he wasn't getting anyones autograph so he gave him his..Smile

ApplePippa · 08/03/2013 15:42

My boys had a ruck this morning because ds1 told ds2 it's 'Ladies Day'. Ds2 of course told him that was nonsense, because it's Mother's Day on Sunday. Cue lots of verbal argy bargy.

I took ds2 to one side and asked him nicely not to argue with ds1, because he's very stressed at the moment and it will only lead to more fighting.

Then they went to school, I went online ... and I noticed the Google thing today is for International Women's Day. Sure enough, ds1 had noticed it when he went online to check his emails before school. He wasn't talking about Mother's Day, he was talking about Women's Day. Blush

Ds has the tendancy to be quite literal. The other day his gran said 'i cant believe shes sitting there doing that' about someone, ds said 'why does she usually stand' Grin

Love it, JeffFaFa Grin

They come out with some classics don't they, that's funny JeffFaFa...it's like when ds is told to "take a seat" he says take it where...

Ladies day, love it, see moose he was right all along

Oh these are fantastic.

Ds has a major problem with getting stuck on the loo after doing a poo. (Partly OCD, partly ASD sensory stuff, I think).
Clinical psych, 2 support workers and I have all tried to come up with solutions without success.

He was really fed up about it yesterday and moaning that noone could think of a sensible solution.
I said that maybe he needed to think of something himself if he was unwilling to try anyone else's ideas.

He replied 'Mother, I said noone could solve it, I am someone so I am included in noone.'

lougle · 09/03/2013 14:48

That is so true! Well done him Grin

Polter I told Ds about your Ds's world book day 'costume'.
He said 'That shows logic which is often sadly lacking these days.'

These are so funny.I sometimes think its the 'nicest' part of ds's Aspergers. Yesterday he fancied writing a songHmm(he is 12) and and after a while appeared and said " I wrote a song with no words". I replied with " oh,you mean you wrote a piece of music then".He says "no,I wrote a whole one" Grin.
