Bikes - what to move to when bike seat is too small?

Does anyone have any great ideas for what to use for bike rides after a child seat.

DD is 4.2 and weighs 20 kg's now. We like to go on bike rides (as does her big brother) and up to now she has been in a bike seat. She is going to get too big for it soon and it's not easy to ride with her.

She is hypermobile, has low muscle tone and poor motor planning. I had thought about one of those bikes to attach to an adult one to make kind of a tandem bike, but to be honest I worry she would fall off and I don't think she would manage to hold herself on there long.

Does anyone have any great ideas? Thanks

What about a trailer? When we go to centre parcs we always use one and even my eldest (7) has been known to hop in?

Piggy back seat with full support]] but it's £440!

Could you apply for funding?

How about her own trike? we have just bought one for dd2 who has ASD and hypermobility.

The piggy back seat looks good, sometimes they come up on e-bay or on the fb for sale page's.

we used a SN bike trailer (forma company called Wike - had to import it, not cheap) or a Kangaroo bike (also not cheap, but was brillaint).

both were good in their own way, eg the Wike we can use as a big buggy on days out, will last dd1 until she is an early teen.

the Kangaroo was brilliant ofr school runs (when I lived anywhere remotely close to dd1's school!), and again dd1 would still fit - for another year or so at least.

not cheap, but relatively long lasting, and well worth our investment.

Thanks everyone - I will take a look at these. I think it is some back support she needs to keep upright, but I am in danger of wheelying if I keep her in her set much longer!
