I have looked around and tempted by the London orthotics consultacy. Does anybody knows them? Or feels to recommend an other provider? Thank you very much!

I have had private orthotics from various sources and NHS and IMHO the NHS ones are superior; the staff take more time, have better access to the latest research and consequently are better informed.

It is true that you have to wait a few days to get your NHS Orthotics and for some reason they do not last as long but on the flipside take less time to break in.

My child is 4 and has flat feet and mild hypotonia. Would he qualify on the nhs?

Yes, get a referal from GP to your nearest NHS Podiatrist.

Has the cause of the underlying hypotonia been determined ? When you say mild, how mild ? In what way has it manifested.

An NHS podiatrist may, after examination and discussion, decide that orthotics are not required and either suggest alternative/s or refer you onward to another specialist (depending on the cause/issues/prognosis).

Wow! Yes don't want to get down to details but i am surprised nobody ever told me the nhs was doing anything about this. While continuing on the private root I will get on the case with the nhs! Many thx
