Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Need to tell someone who will understand - we had a true family day!

Sorry, just need to share with mums who will know why this means so much to me.

DS (13) and Asd came to the gym with me yesterday morning, he wanted to go, he wanted to excercise!

In the evening we watched 'The Help' together, all four of us. He watched it all, the first non comedy or sci Fi film in years. His history teacher suggested it as they will be studying American history soon.

I'm so happy

How lovely Hope

DS (HF ASD - now 16) also started coming to the gym with either me or his dad at the age of 14. He too was keen to exercise - which for a boy who always hated PE (and wouldn't take part in Primary school) is amazing. He has even gone on since to enter and run a 10K race finishing in 48 minutes (and beating his Dad) a major achievement for him.

DS is just coming to the end of his History coursework and has particularly enjoyed doing the American West - in fact it was the 1st topic he started to revise last week for his up and coming GCSEs.

How lovely. It's amazing how days like that can put a spring in your step. No-one else understands how hard an average day is & how precious & rare the good ones are. I always hope my son will always remembers the good days instead of the traumatic difficult ones.
