Dd1 made me feel very very proud today

I am very proud of her every day ( well except when she is driving me nutsGrin) BUT today she was just brilliant.

I attended a committee luncheon at a local pub that had a play area. I had no choice but to take the two monkeys. They sat nicely and ate their lunch and had their drinks and then wanted to go off and play.

After having my lunch interrupted for a number of nappy changes ( the toilet god was conspiring against me then!!)

Dd1 played in the play area really nicely. She did come out a couple of times to look for me and got sidetracked by all the lovely old ladies to go and chat with. BUT she just played nicely and joined inw ith the other children.

I was really worried as she had thrown a wobbler when we left the sn kindy and I though we were in for a torrid time. SHe was just soo well behaved, using her manners nicely and playing with the other children - it was such a testament to the other mums about children with down syndrome.

( unlike her mum who shouted at a horrid boy who was shoving dd2 over and dragging her along the floor by the arm in the play area... made even worse by the fact her was another kindy mum's child... my teachery excuse me!! could be heard tables away . Poor dd2 was just sitting and bobbing up and down in the wendy house playing quietly by herself until the other child arrived. I felt sorry for the mum - but to her credit - she disciplined him and made him sit with her for the rest of the time!!)

Then we head of to SALT today and she is tired after a very short nap but she again did brilliantly. The salt was doing an activity called prompt where they use physical prompts to help her sound out her letters.... and out of the blue - dd1 just does these sounds that even earlier in the session she did not do!!! I almost cried, I was sooo proud.

Okay - enough of my dribbling on.. just felt so proud of my grown up girl today.

suzy it was at the local tavern and all the mummies whose little dears were at kindy did not want to be annoyed by those of us who had to bring our children.... great thanks for making me feel welcome. I am already feeling very hesitant about agreeing to this...... THen I do a sprint along the table as I have been banished to the end to run into the play area and shout like some madwoman at a 5/6 yo who is dragging my 18 month old along the ground by her arm...... Grin oh well!!
