Dd has a genetic condition and also learning disability and autism. She hurts the baby who is now eight months, it's been a real struggle particularly in the car to keep things safe.

They should have been sharing a room but obviously this will not be possible and we are in a two bed house with little space, one living area downstairs so hard to see where adaptations could be made but the social worker mentioned an assessment maybe to see if the bedroom could be divided, I am not sure it can with adequate space but we also cannot afford to move in next few years and I am worried at my awful sleeper baby being in with us till she is three or four, especially as she will presumabley want her own play space too not in our room. Currently dh sleeps on the sofa and I did think maybe we should get a sofa bed and we just give her our room but keep our clothes in it. But not ideal! Any ideas or experiences?

Meant to say, we own our home but it is leasehold so not actually certain where we stand with changing it but think we can do things that don't affect the other buildings in the complex.

I live in social housing. I'm giving up my bedroom very soon for similar reasons. It's not nice, but it's the way it is. My sympathy - it's awful actually having to give up my room!

Sorry to hear that! Yes I suspect it will be the case here too. Has occurred to me even if we split dd1s room she would still too easily be able to get to dd2 so even less possible than I thought even if there was space!

I'm on the lookout for a good sofa bed.

Thanks for that link, it looks like an ot assessment is the way to go. I think ultimately our place is too small to do much with and we can't extend due to the way it is but worth asking for the assessment I think asifnothing else, they may tell me what would help for dd. I wonder if they woul advise on asd type stuff to help?

Merrycouthymows I am googling sfa beds that are ok for long term use as dh and I both have bad backs, will let you know if I find anything good!
