Is there any point appealing against a permanent exclusion? There is no dispute that the behaviour that led to the exclusion happened - I witnessed it. Perhaps what we could argue is that his special educational needs (probable HFA) were not met and behaviour was a consequence of this. I am not expecting or even wanting I think him to go back to the same school but has anyone used this argument effectively to help get extra support or statutory assessment for their child in similar circumstances. The current plan is that after a brief spell at a PRU he will be sent to just another mainstream school without any extra support. As my other son is still at the school (just) we do not want to go in too aggressively.
