Just thought I'd flag this up for you all. It's on every night this week on BBC 3 and shows a family with 3 boys under 4. Eldest boy has mild asd. Always wondered how these shows cope with children with sn.
Should be interesting.

I was watching this last night, by "mild asd" do you think they mean AS or HFA?

Just not heard of a dx of mild asd before.

I tell you what though, the couple with the twins he was getting on my nerves, she looked shattered and had epilepsy, he didnt look like he did much with the girls.

DS has mild ASD. Its because he's pretty placid , no big need for routine, quite sociable etc.
Ds' main problems are speech and imagination. The rest are comming on quite nicely.
I've often been tempted to put ds in to see if they could make him eat!!

Jenk - Asd is usually given a term of mild, moderate or severe. The spectrum is so wide and all chidren are affected to different degrees.

am big fan of this show too. totally agree about twins dad - he said hes finding it difficult - not good at socialising etc but so is the lone parent lady.(her daughters a nightmare) not sure quite what he expected - when he said 'please dont take my books away' i thought forget the books mate start interacting with these gorgeous children - you might learn something. happy watching!

Ah didnt realise that Blossom thought you were either ASD,HFA or AS, thanks for letting me know Smile

I might watch it tonight now.

I had no idea ASD was split into categories, how is it classified?

I suspect this child i going to be high in functioning terms tehn my ds, but Im interested to see how they handle things...
