Hiya,

My son is 3, he has severe learning difficulties, autism, sensory processing disorder, a rare chromosome disorder and hypermobility.
I just need to rant and let off some steam. I feel rather annoyed at some professionals. In my old area, my son was seen by a physio and we were told no problems, all his motor problems are down to his learning difficulties and spd, which was fine. I've worked with professionals on that basis to aid his development. In our new area, the ot and physio said my son has hypermobility this is why he get tired, he can't use stairs without help, he can't feed himself, he sits weird, has bad posture, adding to why he won't walk outside etc etc and I feel so annoyed and slightly disappointed in myself that I've been encouraging and pushing my son to try his best to achieve these things and actually it's a lot more difficult for him than I was told.
He is non verbal and doesn't respond to pain, and now I feel that maybe he is feeling uncomfortable, maybe that does hurt to do that, I won't know at this moment in time, but if someone has done their job properly in the first place, maybe my son could of had more appropriate approaches to his needs :/
