If you've had Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, who delivered it?

I asked CAHMS for ds (10, AS) to be referred for CBT. After much nagging and 7 months later, he has an appointment with a mental health nurse.

AIBU to think I'm being fobbed off here?

I think on this occasion you are. I have no personal experience but I do think many nurses now trained to do CBT. Nursing roles have really expanded in the last few years and this is one of thier new roles.

Good luck with it.

Thanks, Carrie. My first instinct when I received the appointment letter was to throw a huge tantrum Grin. I then thought maybe this was a process I had to go through, like a triage system.

If however, nurses can now offer CBT, I'm open to it Smile. When dd was offered play therapy a while back, she saw a psychotherapist and I had assumed ds would see someone similar.

Thanks again!

Thanks, PolterGoose. We had our appointment today, and the nurse was lovely and managed to connect with ds.

So far so good Smile we will be having fortnightly sessions.
