PDA?

Can anyone point me in the direction of some techniques that might work with a child you suspect has PDA? (My almost 15yo DD)

I have exhausted all methods of dealing with 'NT' DC's, plus all methods of dealing with DC's with ASD's. Now I'm at a loss.

I've suspected PDA for a few years now, but nothing firm.

Maybe I could try some techniques to deal with her doing anything she should be doing and her reactions to being asked to let someone else talk / tidy her room / Put a pencil in her school bag / anything you ask her to do?

Try these two links to some info you might find relevant. My ds is only 6 so I found the norsaca article on helping your child with PDA to play useful, but you might still be able to adapt those ideas to your dd.

Basically, the main strategies are to reduce unnecessary demands, be indirect in your use of language, use humour, reassure rather than admonish, give choices and find ways for them to feel in control.
