Sadly I've come across school staff like this Sad

In our case school have denied that any inappropriate remarks were made and there's nowhere to go with complaints other than the Governors who will just back the school. I do think it's bad that you can't progress complaints higher than that. Ofsted not interested neither are LA Sad

I'm absolutely Shock by the comments under the article. There goes all hope I have in her being a rogue and rare occurrance!

'It's good to see that most commenters are supportive of this teacher. If you can't 'vent' with a colleague then it's a poor show. Cruelty can be so much more subtle and undetectable than a few words. Unless you work with these kids I am sure that it is impossible to understand how frustrating they can be'

'Not surprising, teachers now see it as a job, not a profession or calling. This is why in the decades to come, we will just end up replacing them with ex services people who have respect.'

'Sometimes some children are exactly those things and more. That is real life.'

'She's just being honest, telling it like it is! if you don't like the truth, tough....'

The comments :(
Its sickening just to think people really think that way.

Oh my god.
I don't want to send my little one to school in September.
As that's the daily hate mail I am not reading the readers comments. They will make my blood boil.

The problem with the comments is that all the ones supporting the teacher have loads of green likes, where the few that express anger at her behaviour and the decision have loads of dislikes.

'This is ludicrous. This woman was dealing with difficult and obnoxious children and was clearly venting her frustration. The volunteer to whom she said this is obviously not to be trusted. Good luck to this lady. I hope she can find a career that recognises her ability. Teaching is a respectable job but it attracts no respect especially from the far right who despise people who care.'

This is the worst one for me. The one that made me LOL (although still appalling) was: 'There are a lot of unhinged female teachers'

Come on geese. Adjust the "likes". There are loads of us!

I personally think striking her off would have made her a martyr to the cause of "Badmouth kids you find hard to teach". Much more effective to sanction and retrain her, and leave her in post, as an example to all her colleagues of the dangers of losing respect for the small humans left in your care kids.

And HONKS to whoever the volunteer was, the sensible person who reported this teacher but not the other staff, not the normal human teachers who (like parents?) might, say one bad thing on one occasion, that they don't mean.
