Partner objecting to GFCF diet?!

Hello,
To all those who have tried a GFCF diet with their children-did you encounter any opposition from your OH? We have restricted dairy for our son and this seems to have helped his bowels a little but I am really wanting to trial gluten free. We have requested a testing kit from the Sunderland place but haven't heard back from them yet so don't have any 'proof' that the diet could help but we have cut down his gluten in the past and I feel it did make a slight difference (although I know you need to do it 100% to really tell). My OH is really quite against this as he says he didn't notice any difference/doesn't want to restrict our sons diet unless we have to etc
I'm trying to get him to agree a trial during the next half term break which will give us 12 days whilst our son isn't at school. I realise this may not be long enough to see any difference but if I keep a detailed diary before and during to note any stim type behaviour etc then I may be able to provide OH with some 'evidence'. At the moment I have said that I have 'a feeling' going GF may help but obviously this went down like a lead balloon! But I do have a 'feeling' -call it mother's intuition if you like (I'd better not say that though!)
Any advice you can give will be gratefully received and passed on to OH.

No advice really but I noticed this was unanswered - maybe this will help bump it up the list!
I have ds1 who is gfcf BUT a dh who is sensitive to wheat and now df too so I didn't have to have too much of a battle about it Smile also we were being called into school every week about ds's behaviour so I think dh would have been willing to try anything at that point...
How do you think it will help your ds? maybe focus on the behaviours you want to change much make OH see the positives of trying it

You should go gfcf ideally if you want to see benefits. It may not be for your child but generally for most asd kids, changing the diet to gfcf sees about 70% betterment in speech, concentration and eye contact. It worked for dd majorly. It was as if a fog lifted and she began to learn and absorb things more. She has gone from two word combinations to phrases very fast and we are looking at sentences now. Removing dairy and I mean everything milk, cheese, ice cream - anything that has milk in it. Check for labels, remove biscuits too if they have traces of milk as well.....that is when you will see the difference. Removing milk- you will see difference in 2-3 days. Gluten is harder. It will take 2 months to see the difference. You will have to do it 100%. Recently we gave ice cream to dd after doing months of gfcf and saw her lapse into crazy squealing. Within 2 days squealing stopped when casein left her body.
