.

I wanted to pop in and say hello. It has been a good quiet week on the child front this week, although I face the challenge of trying to find a suitable costume for DS in the school musical this weekend.Given how he hates shopping, new clothes and is skinny so nothing fits, it should be fun Hmm.
An I got a job offer today (skips in exitement!) so everthing annoying is water off my back at the moment ( until tomorrow when I have to do that shopping)

I hope it hasn't been too bad for you all this week?

Hello - we have two Friday Freds! Double the fun!

Great to hear you've had a good week, I feel for you on the school musical costume.

Congratulations on the job offer and hope the shopping isn't too bad.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/01/2013 17:33

yay to the job offer!

I had a tantrum with ds' school about his lack of engagement at home and the school's lack of engagement with the parents, to find that the past 3 frustrating weeks were obviously some kind of precursor to a massive development leap.

Now I feel a bit of a fool, - though still think the school should communicate more.

moosemama · 25/01/2013 17:40

Ah, the sneaky developmental leap trick - way to go MiniStar. Grin

Don't worry about the tantrum, sounds like the school needs a bit of a nudge anyway re home-school communication.

1950sThrowback · 25/01/2013 18:17

Yay to the job offer.
Yay ministar.
Request 4 SA had been on the LEA's desk for 3 days when I get a message to say my letter would need to be resubmitted. Oh yes re-drafted letter was delivered to her building within the hour AND she ended up agreeing to back date the new one as her "corrections" were, in point of fact, utter twuntery and not in the pitiful guidance they issue for parents about requesting an SA*. Hah. Unfortunately this means she knows I am a pedantic old baggage and won't be so easy to outwit next time.

Much chocolate was eaten that day.

*not specific guidance at all - just rehash of the CoP in baby language.

signandsmile · 25/01/2013 18:28

Hi all, another twin poster here... Grin

week has been a mix, ds had what we are referring to as the 'itchy witchys' so had to be bribed to cope with with copious combing... Blush and my lap top stopped working for 3 days, just when I needed it for college,,, argh! Angry but I have won the battle of the sofa, (dh who hates change, has been clinging onto the sofa, which he actually doesn't like, becuase I am 'always changing everything') I did have a touch of the 'badvov forking impulse' Grin

However it has been freecycled off to a new home, yay!! Grin

zumbaleena · 25/01/2013 18:34

an ok week...got the school to see dd got problems. met with LEA EP and everyone thinks dd is fine. when i see her at home in playdates, I can see the gaps. goign crazy getting the school to agree to an aba shadow. looking for new nurseries. they told me to stop SA.

Ineedmorepatience · 25/01/2013 18:39

Ooo, 2 friday fredsGrin

I normally cant cope with 1 at the moment but I have signed in on both this week.

Dd3 has been a pita most of the week due to snow, late school starts and too much reading in bed.

Am determined to get her to bed at a sensible time tonight.

Hope everyone has a good weekendSmile

hazeyjane · 25/01/2013 19:14

hello thread 2 or is it thread 1?

Week of crapola here, details on other thread.

My week has been saved by the Great British Bake Off, which has saved my sanity every evening, and it's not on tonight! How dare they!

ouryve · 25/01/2013 19:20

This Friday Thread has one post less than the other, so I'm going to post here and even it up.

A very cold, snowy week, here. DS2's a bit fed up of it all because some of it comes up to his knees!

Finally got to see an EP for the first time in a few years. She seems very supportive of what we want for DS1 and will be seeing the boys several times over the next couple of months so she can get a detailed picture of how they tick. Seems very positive, at this point. PP are going to help me with visiting some of the local SS I haven't seen yet, so I can build up a case for when we come to review.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 25/01/2013 19:50

I'm all confused Confused !

Quick post and run, tonight. I've joined gatecrashed a book group, my first meeting tonight. Shame I have the boys, though. Will try to persuade them to meet on the alternate week. DS1 will be babysitting tonight, gulp! Strict instructions not to answer the door and to go to the neighbours with any problems, my mobile number is programmed into his phone.

Have a good one!

I here, in body if not spirit...or is it the other way around?

Tricky week. DD1 has been fractious, although her annual review draft made me chuckle. Her teacher says 'who needs 3 LSAs when I have DD1??'

One of her targets for a year's time is 'knows times tables to 10'. At the moment she doesn't even know what multiplication is and addition is pretty sketchy - who says Special Schools aim low? Wink

DD2 was doing a bit better, and has killed me with her talk of the Crimean war (incidentally, she's decided that when she's older, she's going to open a school for the nurses who look after the soldiers in the Crimean war...). The fact that at first she thought the soldiers had hamsters running around spreading diseases Grin

Unfortunately, she's feeling poorly again today, and school didn't call me.

DD3 is her usual charming yet completely control-freakery self - utterly exhausting nearly 4 year old.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 25/01/2013 21:03

Hi all I'm thoroughly confused but have decided to post on this one.
We have had barely any lying snow much to Dd's disgust. Ds only cares about snow if its the Minecraft variety.
Ds has had GCSE modular exams this week and been a bit stressed out but coping just.
I am stressed out about DD's joint pains and professional attitudes. However I have got a cleaner. Can't really afford her but having the house clean really does make me feel better. Don't think DH or the DC notice though.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 25/01/2013 21:05

Oh and it's Burns' Night. Just noticed the smileys and have to use one.
Brew and [bbiscuit] - shortbread to all.

MareeyaDolores · 25/01/2013 21:15

Ds1 and dd almost recovered from recent ailments. Ds2 now vomiting but quite chirpy... he must have realised how much the sofa covers needed a wash despite mum's denials Hmm

Am trying to see if we can somehow pay for a (non-lawyer) advocate for tribunal, as have realised I'm simply not able to do it even half-well, and I definitely cant do it without everything else falling apart.

2old2beamum · 25/01/2013 21:16

NoHaudin I am so glad you have a cleaner mine is a lifeline I have 5 DC's with SN 8 bedrooms in this tatty house. Quite honestly what better way to spend DLA (part of) to help mum, it has certainly helped me and indirectly the rest of the family. My young lass is my saviour
Hope you sort out DD soon Don't get too stressed we are here for you.
