Hi All.
Started a thread last week and because of the great feedback, i have started the ball rolling to get help for my ds(6).
After what i thought was a successful meeting with his class teacher on friday, i was left disappointed yesterday. One of my main concerns about ds is his anxiety, he needs constant reassurance but recently confided in me that he feels silly asking anyone other than me if he's ok, hands ok etc even though he feels very unsafe and worried(his words) at school.
To cut a long story short, discussed him at length with teacherand she agreed that we need to take it further. She has left a message with school nurse and said she would have a chat with ds and come up with a secret signal that they could have when he needed reassurance but no one would have to know.
Ds came home from school and said that teacher had not spoken to him. I asked her this morning and she said she hadn't had chance! But will do it today, she did add that he waslooking at her quite a lot though. So i already geel slightly let down.
I know i'm waffling.....so my question is basically.......i think i have the ball rolling at school, do i also make a doctors appountment, or wait for school to assess him? Bearing in mind his anxiety and other behaviour has previously been dismissed by doctor? I have kept a behaviour diary for a week now so if you do think a doctors appointment is necessary, how long should i keep the diary before i present it to him!?!
Thanks in advance, sorry i go on...
