Advice from those 'well-read '

Could you advise me on your recommended books. DS3 is still slowly inching way through dx. He's under CAMHS and we were advised that the Tony Attwood book would be good but when this was mentioned they were thinking aspergers. They're now concluding 'a-typical autism' with pda traits. I'm sure I could stock an entire library with the texts that are out there but I want to get something worth reading. Many thanks

I quite liked Lorna Wing, the Autistic Spectrum, but it was a bit to negative in places and may not be the first one to read. It seems to be aimed slighly more at professionals than parents, depends on how detailed you want it. t's tricky, there seem to be lots of good books on AS but less on ASD. If you get the Lorna Wing one, my DS came out as 'active but odd!' which isn't a particularly PC term, but does describe him. I also read a few 'lighter' books like Donna Williams autobiographies and George and Sam by Charlotte Moore.
