dd is moving up in September. Shouldn't be too bad as she will still be at same school.

Yep my dd (has AS) been a long rollercoaster, offered a nightmare local mainstream which ASD outreach have said a definite "no no" for dd, (recent article in press re a pupil being tied up with barb wire by another pupil and now have pc on patrol!) applied for another mainstream but refused and in hindsight think we were being optimistic that dd could cope in an environment with nearly 2,000 pupils and so much free time/classroom changes/different teachers/queueing at lunchtimes etc etc. Looked at specialist schooling option but feel dd can mimic other nt children to a certain extent and may benefit from being in this environment, so have been forced to opt for small private school with only 70 kids in, very sn friendly, and purely because of the environment will not have to cope with the many challenges mainstream secondary brings to an ASD child. Makes me so :( that this is our only reasonable option and already having nightmares about the (reasonable) fees! How are feeling about your placement?

nervous. dd has been their since she was 3 so we know the school really well. She is well settled there. but the move from primary is quite a big one. they spend 2 years in each class in primary so any move is going to be hard. luckily she knows loads of kids in secondary and has been visiting for over a year(my request) my main concern really is who is going to be in her class. she is very bright and able compared to overs in her class and has always been a bit on her own. for the past year she has had a boy in her class who is more on her level. but sadly he is a year younger.
