How do I get the school to pull their finger out?

Ds2 (5yrs) has suspected ADHD and aspergers. We are struggling to the point it's ruining our lives at the moment. Although we get dla and now have an outreach worker from this week. Saw consultant today. Who wrote to school in APRIL and despite me chasing in sept and dec they have still not filled in Connor's questionnaire who responded .
I also asked in July for him to be assessed by ed psych to be told in an arsey voice "there's a waiting list he will have to wait"

Meanwhile they are doing bugger all to help him or us!?!!! Hmm

That's appalling- considering he already gets DLA.

Does he have a Statement?

You should write a letter (not phone or email) to the Head asking him to ensure the questionnaire is completed immediately and warning that should school fail to do so you will raise the matter with the Governors. make sure that you send a copy of the letter to your DS's consultants and make sure the Head knows you have done so - ie put CC (DS's Consulatnt) in the letter to the Head.

That way the Head cannot deny you hastened this as the Consulatnt will also have a copy of your letter on file.

then wait a week and if you've heard noting from school write a letter to the Chair of Governors.

TBH at this stage I'd probably also complain directly to the LA but they usually like school to handle these sort of matters - but it doesn't hurt for the LA to be informed of just how crap a school is.

keep at them!

how long have they had the connors for? That's appalling.

You can apply for statutory assessment yourself - have a look at the IPSEA site.

Honestly? Theyve probably lost it, or else dont want to fill it in cos itll be evidence of them needing to spend scarce special needs monies in your ds. Get a spare copy of the Connors off the consultant secretary. go into school to class teacher directly, at a time when she has few excuses.

Politely insist she fills it in there and then, read it through and if it's all zeros, ask her how he copares to the average child in the class on that item (no, i dont think little Billy is over-active... Well yes, he's always the second most mobile on the carpet, but I don't want to label your son) and note the responses.

If that fails, then letter to headteacher

I was thinking they'd probably lost it as well.
