DS2 has SN, he developed Infantile Spasms aged 14months and regressed to about a newborn level developmentally before having brain surgery to remove his right temporal lobe (+ a bit more) just before his 2nd birthday.

3 years on, he is mostly seizure-free (2 odd moments last year that need further discussion with GOSH) and attends an SN school f-t.

Today, he came home with 2 reading books Grin

Ok, so they are Level 1 of Biff & whatsit and one has no words in it, but woo-bloody-hoo Grin

I am so so pleased and so so proud of him!

I don't need a response but just bursting to get it out and talk about it!!

Go DS2!

:) I remember feeling just like you are when DS got his first reading book,he has classic autism and I didn't think he would ever read.
But let me tell you those blooming books go on forever and he's 8 now and I'm absolutely fed up of hearing about biff, chip and bloody floppy :).
We even let him name our new pets last year and we have biff, chip and floppy swimming happily in their tank .

Sadly DS1 is at the other end of the Biff books so I'm familiar with them!
Though I've never truly worked out which kid is which so it's good to start from the beginning for me :)

DS2 was still thrilled with his books this morning and we had to go through them both several times Grin Grin
