Help with electricity bills for essential equipment

This is a bit of a long shot I know ... Our electricity bill has more than doubled since my daughters ventilator has come home with us. Does anyone know of any funding I could access to help with this? I have been watching our monthly bills and shopping around for energy tariffs and can't get it any lower at the moment. It's such a significant increase its making a huge impact on our already tight finances.
I think I already know the answer but thought it was worth picking everyone's brains!

Do you claim DLA? I guess they could argue that it should come out of that? Not sure. Hopefully someone else will be along with a better suggestion in a bit.

When ds1 was on oxygen a long time ago, the company who supplied the equipment was air liquide. They had some figures on how much electricity it used and there was a meter on the machine. Based on the readings they used to send us a cheque for the amount of electricity used. So maybe ring the supplier of the equipment if they have a similar arrangement in place. If you have a social worker/community nurse etc involved, they can also provide information on stuff like this.

Can't help with the cost thing but please make sure you register with your electricity provider, so that they know you have essential medical equipment that relies on electricity. They may call it their "special needs" register or something else but you should be able to find out how on their website.
You can also do the same with your water company.

Sorry, don't know about costs for a ventilator, but can confirm that you definitely get refund of costs from the suppliers of Oxygen Concentrators (DD has a small supply of O2 cylinders from Air Products , so we get their newsletter and it is always mentioned in there).
Try contacting the team who arranged for the equipment to be supplied and ask them.

Also 2nd what starfish said about contacting your electricity supplier to put your house on the priority list as using essential medical equipment. Not much use for unforseen power cuts, in my experience, but if they are scheduling planned works they will contact you in advance and connect you to a generator if necessary.
