Dd started on her medication last Friday and well I am stunned Shock

She is so much calmer, not impulsive, happier and generally so much easier to deal with.

I really didn't think that it would have the affect it has, especially so quickly.

Within 10 minutes of taking it it worked.

She knows why she is taking it and wants to. Dd said she feels so much happier and calm in herself.

The whole house is so much more relaxed.

The biggy is the impulsiveness as this has pratically stopped.

She has had no side affects (fingers crossed). Still has an appetite and sleeping well at night.

Infact she asks for her tablet and swallows it no problem! Now she is more relaxed she is talking and communicating so much more and she said she was tired of running around but couldn't stop.

We have 100% done the right thing and this is only on the minimum dose.

Can you tell I am :):):):) xxx

Medication still having a huge impact on dd and her life in general.
Before half term and having the medication dd was having incidences everyday at least.
Now since going back nothing has happened. Teacher has noted a big improvement all round with her behaviour, concentration and communication.
I cannot believe it but obviously I still hate having to give my dd ritalin :( It was the final resort for us.
Hopefully it has helped her self confidence (main reason I gave it to her) and infact she herself says to me that "I didn't want to run around all the time but couldn't stop".

What a difference, and she sounds so much happier too, there's no doubt you've done the right thing.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 30/04/2006 09:29

Well done for braving it. It's good to see it's paying off.

Chocol8 · 30/04/2006 09:44

I'm really glad to hear it is working Bloss - you are seeing the same results that I saw with my ds within an hour of medicating him the first time.
It's never easy to make that decision - I still find it hard 3 years on, but I know that without it ds's and my life would be very different.
