MNSN virtual Nativity!

Yes, I'm late to our own Nativity Xmas Blush but DS slept in till 9 and I've only just caught up with myself.

We enjoyed a festive breakfast of toast and carols. 'Away in a Manger' was a particular highlight as DS finds the words 'too tricky' so we filled in the blanks with actions and disco dancing. Fantastic!

Should anyone wish to join our virtual and slightly-behind-schedule nativity, all you have to do is do something fun and Christmassy with your DCs over the day and post below.

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Does volunteering to work whilst your dh finds out what it's like attempts to take them all to children's carol service (with help from neighbours) count Xmas Grin?

madwomanintheattic · 24/12/2012 16:17

Dh is taking the kids skiing. They are wearing Santa hats over their helmets, and dd2 wants to tie bells on so that she sounds like Santa is coming. Grin

They are also icing the cake with sil later. She was making a valiant attempt to be inclusive and not freak out because the icing stockings for round the edge were, um, not quite as stocking shaped as she had envisaged. Later they are baking mince pies whilst carols from kings is on. The adults will be chugging mulled wine to get us through the wedges of dough with exploded and boiled mincemeat where everything was over enthusiastically filled, and accidentally dropped onto the baking tray by fine motor girl... Grin

(But in the meantime I have to finish my Christmas shopping. Eek. So will pop back and read later!)

DS sang his grandma a lovely rendition of we wish you a merry Christmas :) followed by a super hug and a kiss on the lips (usually on the forehead) :)
He's just made her Christmas and he's oblivious to the fact.
Have a good one ladies :)

Maria that not only counts but gets extra Christmas fairy dust Xmas Grin.
Mad that sounds like fun and strong - ahhhhh. Christmas magic!

DD sang the first two lines of Jingle Bells and has been wearing a Santa hat. Happy Christmas!

Ineedpigsinblankets · 24/12/2012 18:51

Dd3 is curled up on the sofa watching Arthur Christmas wearing Rudolf pyjamas and socks.

Does that countXmas Grin

WeWilsonAMerryChristmas · 24/12/2012 19:48

It all counts! Although DS is currently using the whistle he got in a cracker to try and whistle Jingle bells. DH employers sent a lovely Christmas hamper with lovely crackers in, each one containing a whistle. Which was nice. Would it be so wrong to wish that DS had sensory noise issues right now? Cos I certainly do Xmas Grin

DD actually sang in church this afternoon!! Almost unheard of!

And she is wearing her christmas jumper.

Have a good one all.

Ineedpigsinblankets · 24/12/2012 20:41

wilson , it rarely follows that children who have sensory noise issues dont like their own noiseXmas Grin

It is everyone elses noise they have trouble with.

kyz1981 · 24/12/2012 20:43

My ds had a great time repeating the chorus of jingle bells over and over and over again. Love him- Merry xmas x

ScramblyEgg · 24/12/2012 21:18

DS has been singing the 'Father Christmas lost his knickers on the motorway' version of jingle bells that he learnt at nursery.

starfishmummy · 24/12/2012 21:24

We watched Nativity on TV.
He is now tucked up in bed, wide awake waiting for santa (DS is 14!)
DH has banned me from the living room while wrapping is going on!

CatchingMockingbirds · 24/12/2012 22:14

Wow I'm really late - 12hrs late. It's been a busy day! I'm glad you all had a lovely virtual nativity. DS had a part in his nativity this year AND he actually went on stage and everything for a change. His school wanted to include everyone so they added extra parts like animals of the sea and land. DS was an octopus :o

They also taught all the kids to sign the nativity too, even the songs, it was great.

WeWilsonAMerryChristmas · 24/12/2012 22:54

Ooh, signing really gets me weepy catch I think it's such a beautiful way to make inclusivity ring out.

DS had a tough final hour but fair enough. He whistled White Christmas for a full half hour - DP fell asleep fGS. And then he trotted off to bed. I'm looking at the presents under the tree and thinking we may have gone a little bit overboard, but hey-ho.

Merry Christmas one and all. Xmas Grin

Happy Christmas!
DS played a full (non speaking but singing/actions) part in the school Nativity this year....so proud.
He sang in Church today too!
He fell asleep at 7.30 pm and woke at 10.30 pm and has been negotiating going downstairs ever since Hmm

MummytoMog · 25/12/2012 00:56

DD, DS and I sat round the piano and sang Jingle Bells. Except the words were weewee wee, weewee wee etc. Can you tell we're still trying to potty train madam...? Smile
