Dd2 has autism, sensory processing ect, but she has developed a load of tics, verbal and physical.
She does this weird sucking in noise when talking, has been known to shout random words ect, including the most embassing which was "disabled" at top of her voice Blush

I just assumed it was Stims as part of autism but friend suggested torrettes.
Is there anything I should be doing or asking for?

She 5 btw

DS2 (6yrs) is struggling with the same thing, however, all we keep getting told by paed is "we'll just keep an eye on it and see how things go." It's a bit aggravating tbh.

I'll be interested to see what responses are...

DS has been dx with upper motor and vocal tics with tourettes in brackets.

To be honest there isnt a lot one can do :(

Medication can help reduce anxiety if that is the cause.

Tiredness effects DS as does even thinking trying to explain something!

Only methods I know are not bringing up the subject, asking schools not to point out, tell them to stop something they cant or ridicule.

I do heavy massage, give stress balls and ask him to squeeze like mad instead of cracking his fingers and I mean he dislocates them now :(

It is important to make them feel comfortable in their own skin and therefore more relaxed. the more I asked him to stop the worse it became x
