No, no, but thanks for asking :) Sometimes (and I suspect others on here will know what I mean) mnet makes me feel like I am living on a different planet from everyone else. Browsing looks like others may have stumbled across that this week. I gave it a bit of a rest, Aloha said I should come back but keep off vax threads, so I am trying. The name helps remind me to keep away. When feeling delicate I should stick to SN really.

Anyways how are things? I have lots of help this holiday, which is great for the kids, ds1 is much calmer because he's being kept busier, but in someways I'm finding it exhausting as I have to keep everyone constantly occupied.

hi JJ. hows life with the boys?

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 11/04/2006 22:21

exhauting, but I'm not going to moan to you misdee! How's Peter? Des he have any more trips home planned?

things are okay here - we only have the week before easter and the long weekend off - so I only have to entertain dd1 and 2 for four days. Luckily I am off to pick up her two cousins and my SIL from the airport in a couple of hours - so she will have playmates and then we are catching up with family over the long weekend..... then it is all back into it.

She must love kindy as she has been asking about it and her teachers this week - good sign.

How is ds3 - walking yet - I thought he was.... we finally managed to get dd2 to walk without any aid - as long as we offer food/some incentive held at a distance. She is such a monkey - it really is a choice thing for her.... she will walk to get whatever and if you try and move back a bit - she just thinks - nah can't be bothered and sits down!
So I know she can do it and chooses not to.

I know what you mean sometimes - I get a bit tired of the amnio/triple test etc questions.... I know people are going through a tough time but sometimes I can't get there iyswim so I might have a read but that is it or even avoid it all together.

Dd1 went to her first birthday party on the weekend and had the best time - lovely to see - in spite of a girl who thought it was okay to shove and push her!

one mroe unescorted visit, hopefully will be a home one but need everyone to be well. home i na month hopefully. bed is arrving this week.

just saw your bedwetting thread. have you through about the eczema sleepsuits with mittens? not sure how flexable your ds is, but my dd1 is an escape artist so we had to resew one of the buttons on the back to make the neck openign smaller as she would get out of them to scratch herself to bits. she is double jointed so even got her hands through the button tapes.

eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:24

that will be fab to have him home.

wow @ 1st birthday!

Ds3 is running, walking up and down stairs (whilst holding things!) and signing biscuit frantically. Has also started spinning himself in circles this week and is crap at pointing! So keeping me pondering. I seem to remember your dd2 is a whizz signer, I have to increase ds3's vocab, more and biscuit is about all we get!

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 11/04/2006 22:25

home- wow brilliant!

He wouldn;t get out of the sleepsuit, but he would scream about it :(

misdee · 11/04/2006 22:25

hmmm number 4. well i'd love another one, but peter needs to be a year post transplant really, and we need to look further into the DCM misdiagnosed as asthma thing (peter hasnt used his inhalors since LVAD was fitted, so big question mark over whether he ever had asthma or if he has always had DCM), dd's all need to be screened as well.

eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:27

oh yes but biscuit is her favourite!! silly me - used to give her biscuits to snack on whilst I would wander round the shops doing the other shopping ( not grocery) and now the minute you walk into a shop she madly starts signing biscuit.

Wow - he is a mover - must keep you on your toes.

walking, well done ds3!!

dd3 has taken her first tenative steps, but mainly to get to people so she can be picked up.

eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:29

wow - that is a lot. Nothing as serious as peter but dh was misdiagnosed with back complaint when it was in fact one leg shorter than the other.... went to the doc about chest pains - turns out he has a congenital heart defect and condition - of which the one leg longer thing is a symptom. The cardiologist told us that that had no bearing on dd1 but we still need to get dd2 and any other children checked out too.

He as something called a bicuspid aorta and a mitral valve prolapse.

Scarily could have dropped dead because of this and no one would have known unless they did an autopsy!! So think about all the sport etc he used to do. Apparently he can still do it but has to take it easy.

oh my, thats scary. i am consolling myself that DCM is more comman in boys than girls. dd2 murmur is still there, tho she is the only one to have had an echo as they detected a murmur when she was about a year old. but dd1 has asthma. which is worrying.

even peters mum mentioned the asthma/dcm thing, so eeeek!

eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:34

isn't it interesting what information you hang on to - iyswim. Although we were told the girls have a 50% chance of having some heart condition. Poor dh since we came to Aus he is finding all these things that are unusual or 'wrong' with him. Lucky we decided to come !!

OP posts:
eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:35

do you have to wait with the girls until a certain age to get them checked out. We were told to wait until dd2 was 6 or 7.

OP posts:
misdee · 11/04/2006 22:37

not sure. going to see the GP about it when they are all well. Want to get the info printed on DCm?asthma to take with me. think it mainly presnets itself in adolesence, when peter was dx with asthma.

eidsvold · 11/04/2006 22:40

that would be nerve wracking waiting all that time.
