YES - remember give them everything they want and more... as you know - you have to prove what is over and above taking care of a child with no SN - and they would not be having an allergic reaction for days.

thats what i thought. the allergies are gettign worse. not her main problem anymore tho. she has seen the GP as well.

What type of reaction was it misdee?

misdee · 11/04/2006 22:21

full skin reaction. head to toe.

but it is still something that requires over and above the usual care so bung it in....

Blossomhill · 11/04/2006 22:23

Poor thing :(

bunny3 · 11/04/2006 22:25

put it in. they will ignore it if it is not relevant but if it is relevant it will help your case.

misdee · 11/04/2006 22:28

the thing is, because she doesnt feel it, the itchiness isnt there. so am dosing on piriton and applying cream, but its not like when dd1 gets a reaction with screaming/crying/burning skin.

but it isn't it about your time - so applying the cream is something you need to do that you would not do for a child with no SN - whether she feels it or not is a different matter - or can that be related to her diagnosis - so you need to be more careful iyswim.

bunny3 · 11/04/2006 22:34

that's it precisely. She requires more care than a child of her age without allergies would, therefore it s relevant.

misdee · 11/04/2006 22:35

have to be more careful. she just doesnt feel pain.

my dd1 has a high pain threshold and that can be worrying sometimes.

misdee · 11/04/2006 23:03

the last time she had a bad ear infection the only indication was one scream during the night that her ear hurt. took her to GP her easrdrum was close to bursting.

I had to write on the census form that I had spent part of my week looking after a child with a disability. Bob's form said that he couldn't do some things that a normal child his age could. I kept ringing the helpline saying "is it normal for a 3 year old to be able to eat a banana without going to A&E, does that count?"

The more you write, the more they may be able to help, not just with your dd, but with getting more funding from the powers that be for the DLA generally.
