Can't think why my Ds is so rude to the TA...

My Ds 8 ASD has just randomly told me that the last time he was off sick his TA (obviously said her name not TA Grin) told him how much everyone had enjoyed him not being there!, which he hit back with I have enjoyed not seeing you too so he then got shouted at by the TA, then the class teacher (whom the TA had told about him being rude) and sent out of the room Shock. WTF! Why do these so called adults expect to see good behaviour when they can not demonstrate it themselves to begin with? its beyond me it really is. I think the reason why he came out with it is because he is off sick at the moment and I had said if he is better in the morning he can go to school. Would IBU for me to just go in an headbutt every pig ignorant person just because I find them stupid? Wink because I really am considering that. Thats it from now on I am going to be just as ignorant when they inform me of how rude he has been.

that is really unfair! I think you should have a word with the teacher and compain, how is it acceptable for the ta to say that to him in first place then total double standards to punish him as well

Hi firawla it seems to be the norm in Ds's school, to mock the pupils-speak to them in a really demeaning manner and not expect them to react ( I suppose most wouldn't but my Ds thinks he is an adult so does). I have considered moving him but as I have learnt in life, it doesn't matter where you are there will always be that one dickhead person who thinks they are above it all.

OMG, your poor boy. God I want to be a TA. I'd LOVE my charges, LOVE them I tell ya!

ffs

Sounds like my ds's school Sad. I have a recent thread about what comments my ds has had from some TA's. The latest one to upset him with an inappropriate remark then had the gall to tell him that he needed to control his emotions Angry

Do you have a home/school communication book? Because I find writing things like 'DS was unhappy today because his TA said everyone enjoyed school more when DS was off. Clearly, this cannot be possible, I'm wondering if perhaps DS misheard her saying 'everyone enjoys school more when DS is here?' - any thoughts?'

Yes I KNOW it's PA but it makes me feel better.

Your poor DS.

Could it be she meant it as a joke and he took it literally?

I agree with WeWilson you could write in the book something like 'DS was unhappy today because his TA said 'everyone enjoyed school more when DS was off'. I can only assume she meant this as a joke and he interpreted it literally. Please remember that DS language difficulties and autism mean he may not understand sarcasm, context or inference and may interpret 'jokes' in a literal way.
