That is how it feels with professionals and my DD.
In June this year Ed psych said possible ASD.
SALT and OT said no way. She's to communicative. Everyone has always said she is not 'bad' enough for a statement.

Just seen SALT after she visited DD in nursery and she now wants to raise the possibility again and we will discuss it with the Child Development Team next week where we will also look at starting the statement process.

And DD is ill AGAIN and I have no more childcare days at work to take (only work part time anyway). I am hoping that she picks up this afternoon and is better by tomorrow.

That's it. Just writing it down, so I can look back and remember.

It does get better. The pre-school bit (where issues are noticed and along with the actual problem there's the "are-they-aren't-they" thing) is really hard. After that, things usually start improving.

'Not bad enough' for a statement is meaningless. Your question as her mum is 'Would or wouldn't my particular dc benefit substantially from a statement'. Nothing to do with how bad someone else thinks your dc is or ought to be compared to some other mythical dc.
