Flying visit again this evening. Can't see the screen properly thanks to yet more neuro/visiony stuff going on - most annoying.
Sally, those migraines are really scary if you don't know what's going on. Not many people realise how badly a migraine can affect your whole body, tingling, vision, speech, balance etc and that you can get all of the above without the classic migraine pain. Hope you are feeling better today. I always get a couple of days migraine hangover after mine, so make sure you get enough sleep (lol) and take good care of yourself.
Ds was a mess going back to school after half term this week - what with moving down in maths etc. I emailed his lovely inclusion teacher and she decided to cancel another school especially to come and help him work through it all. Turned out to be very valuable, as we exchanged several emails and then popped round to see me after she'd seen him and we had a really good chat. Verrry interesting, as it seems things the school has told us they are doing at her instigation, not only didn't come from her, but she was pretty
and
that they were happening at all and has started asking school some questions that they will certainly be finding a tad uncomfortable. She's also got her boss involved and she's been into school as well.
Finally got the school's version of the meeting notes from the meeting dh had with them before half term. Not only have they clearly implied that ds is fine at school and the problem lies with home, they have had a good go at twisting what was agreed and lying about the work they say the inclusion teacher has told them to do with him (which we now know she definitely hasn't). Ds is compiling his response this weekend.
Ds is pale, wobbly, tic-ing, has reflux, eczema and has constant upset stomach. He is having regular massive emotional meltdowns, isn't sleeping, is having awful nightmares and is generally a wreck, but is at least a little happier this evening, as he has a lovely weekend planned - school bonfire tonight, Pokemon League club tomorrow and then he's been invited to his best friend's house for tea on Sunday to celebrate his birthday with him.
Oh - and the inclusion team held a borough-wide ASD training forum at our school one evening this week. Our PP rep called this afternoon and told me that none of our own school's TAs (including ds's TA, who also works with another younger child with ASD) attended, whereas there were lots from other schools across the borough. As she quite rightly said, this clearly demonstrated the school's attitude towards supporting their pupils who have ASD.
