All these schools not implementing statements........

It CAN'T be that they are knowingly breaking the law surely.#

It MUST be that as statements have become more and more wooly schools have got used to the idea that they can make it up, and interpret '25 hours exclusively for x' as 'when class teacher or school feel it is necessary'.

The must, in their heads, add to the 'exclusively for x' another line 'if we think x needs it'.

This HAS to be what is going on!!!!

IE Grin

I should be a perfect candidate for getting involved. Stuck at home, can't work and all kids in school full time as of next September. I need to get my thinking cap on as to how I can start to make a difference. I hate feeling this disempowered and lacking in confidence.

I have honestly never been so pathetic in my life as some of the poor me threads I've posted on here. These days I don't trust my own judgement and struggle to understand even simple things, hence asking daft questions I should know the answers to on here on a regular basis. It's all down to panic and loss of confidence and I need to slap myself across the face a few times and start taking control.

Yep, we definitely need some kind of SN revolution. Dh often says that some of us on this board should get together and make the public/politicians aware of just how much crap we are expected to tolerate while the needs of our dc's are not getting met!
On the subject of homework Moose my ds was recently asked to pretend he was a woman and write from her perspective Confused. This was from a teacher who apparently ' is very experienced with ASD children'.

Badger, the public don't know, but the politicians do I promise.

A couple of us went to a meeting at the house of commons and it was widely accepted by everyone that the LGO was toothless, that LA's lie and that it is very ugly for families. It was agreed that 'something needed to be done', - and that was the end of it afaics.

A number of LA's read these boards (great use of taxpayers money eh?). We know this.

It isn't a secret to those high up, just to the public.

Badger that is ... well ... I'm lost for words actually. How plainly ridiculous, asking a child who has ASD to write from someone else's perspective.

Badgerparade · 17/10/2012 12:30

Well, if my LA is reading this, can you please let me know what is happening with my stage 2 complaint. Thanks very much.

Well anything that challenges the system that is failing our kids I am happy to support...physically and financially.

I really wish we could get someone in the public eye on board, a famous face always helps in these situations to bring it out to the forefront.
