I know I need to get over this and move on but...

The awful school that Dd3 used to go to, that made her ill and verging on depression at 8 has just been told that they are outstanding at supporting children with disabilities and special needsShock

They got good overall.

The HT/SENCO is so good at lying and covering her tracks that she has once again conned OFSTED.

I am disgusted that despite at least 3 letters of complaint from parents of children with Special Needs Ofsted still think it is all wonderful there.

All the parents who have complained have been told that their complaints cannot/will not be upheld due to the correct procedure not being followed.

Dd3 was lucky to have parents who were not prepared to put up with the crap anymore and she is very happy where she is but I still feel sick at the thought of the HT getting away with damaging children as she does.

Nobody needs to answer this but I hope there are some ofsted spies on here occasionallyAngry

Having said that, she didn't know a thing about SEN until recently. Although she was always keen on seeing evidence of outcomes as opposed to locked well resourced sensory room iyswim.

I hadn't read that your mum had tried to do the course. Was this as a freelancer? I really do think they train them in an entirely different way to HMI's.

What I meant is you need to put aside good money to pay properly trained inspectors - they should all be HMIs. Reliance on freelancers is not good enough, particularly if that was your mum's experience of the limited training that they offer them.

I also think that resources are aimed at the secondary schools rather than primary.

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/10/2012 17:11

to be honest it was yonks ago and I have no idea which wave of training it was or the policy at the time.

She wouldn't have bothered trying more than once if she had known the reason she didn't 'pass', but the reason was concealed from her initially.

She's retired now and developing property Hmm

The primary school where I work recently had an ofsted and got a good.
Two non class based teachers were drafted in to teach classes of weaker teachers. An extra person was put in reception who never normally works there, as they are understaffed.
The day before, I had been speaking to a teacher who has a LSA for a child with autism and as he had been using her as a general TA,I commented that she should be to support 'x' and he said 'allegedly',he needs social interaction training anyway.
Personally, I think ofsted should do no notice inspections and that's coming from a teacher!

I agree jussi.

I work in an early years setting and we dont get any notice.

I think it is unfair that some cheating HT's get chance to cover up crap in their schoolsSad
