books for young children promoting inclusion of kids with SNs

hi,
I was wondering if anybody can recommend a book I can give to ds1's mainstream preschool teacher, to read to the class. I know such books exist, along the lines of 'everybody is different' relating to children with special needs, but my searches online have been fruitless...
I think they are too young to understand about autism specifically but I would like them to understand that it is still ok to talk to/play with ds1 even though he has a grown up with him and is slightly different to them.
Does this sound familiar? Any experiences positive or negative with this approach would be welcomed.

Sorry, don't have a book recommendation but I'm sure NAS will have one on their website. Just to say that the autism advisory teacher came to DS's school when he was in Y1 and gave the class (except for DS) a talk about invisible disabilities. It was a real turning point for my DS. The other DC went from calling him naughty to being really accepting and protective. He wasn't really a friend maker but to the rest of his class he was just DS and he was part of the gang.

I found that once information filtered through to the parents, they were also positive and accepting. He always got invites to whole class parties but not to the smaller, friends only ones. This doesn't work for everyone and some will disagree with me and feel that they have no right to disclose their DCs DX for them, but my DS is very noticeably autistic, despite being HF, and it only benefitted him. It was recommended on here about three years ago. Its a story book and the message is subtle but I really like it. It really has a nice message about how being different doesnt have to be bad. It has lovely illustrations too.

Could try 'All cats have Asperger's Syndrome' - mostly full page photos of cute kitties with very little text.

There is an excellent book on Amazon called 'looking after Louis' that would be perfect. The pictures are brilliant and the story is really well thought out. I do find it brings a tear to my eye though!
