Was wondering if anyone could suggest what it might be.

Ds has serious bowel problems A & E twice in three months, admitted overnight etc and we noticed yesterday that two mins after finishing some 7 up he was shaking really badly for about ten mins.

This can't be good but don't know what it could be. Any thoughts?

I should ad we are visiting grandma at the moment so his sugar intake generally is quite high!

Neither of mine can handle high sugar drinks at all, especially carbonated, or any caffeine/energy drinks. It seems to act like amphetamines on my DD, now she's at uni she uses it if she needs to stay awake for an extended period.
The shaking is what happens when their systems are overloaded, along with over-rapid speech in DD's case and increased aggression in DS.
Might be the same for your DS

Wiggling on that's very interesting, also the over rapid speach, which is very ds anyway.

The thing is I can def keep him away from fizzy drinks (well mostly) I am worried though that it might be connected to the bowel thing and be an indicator of something more serious!

That's why I was only suggesting, DD used to have bowel problems but grew out of them around 10, with support from a consultant. DS never.

Wofflingon that's also very interesting thanks, if you don't mind me asking when did your dc's bowel problems start? Ds's only started at 4, before then there was no problem at all, and now 6 months later it's all very serious!

DD used to get massive constipation around 3ish, she'd poo once a week if that and it would be the size of an adult. She ended up with some leakage as well, but a combination of diet, maturity and simple medication sorted it out.

Sometimes if there has been a course of 'heavy' medication - antibiotics etc, it kills the bacteria in stomachs that help digest food. Without this bacteria, the stomach lining can become sensitive to foods that otherwise they had been eating well.
This is one cause, but there are others and you can start new allergies at any time.
Write down the contents of the 7UP. If the same effects are caused by any other foods, write those contents down too. There are so many things that can cause intolerance and reactions - sucrose, citric acid, sulphates, additives etc. Caffeine is a well known antagonist to IBS as well (more's the shame! )
