Touch typing program for 10 & 11 year olds?

I was hoping someone could recommend a good touch typing programme for my children who are 10 & 11. Both are Dyslexic and the elder one is currently waiting to be assessed for Dyspraxia. It would need to be both fun and educational or they would never want to do it, I don't really want a fight about this as well as their school work :(

Thank you.

www.nessyfingers.co.uk/

This is the one we use, and have found it very good. My son is 8, dyslexic/dyspraxic and has EDS. It holds his attention and is very clear on the instruction. I Home Ed. and use several of the educational downloads/apps from Nessy and have found them a real help.

Nessy Fingers is good - but there's also a free one on the BBC kids pages : www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ which is quite good (if you can put up with the talking goat telling them where to put "them fingers"!).

You're right about the goat - tried that and drove me mad listening to it - also quite 'fast' - we've found the nessy one slower paced, but you do have to pay for it.

Ds1 taught himself to touch type over the holidays using the Typing Instructor Platinum app. He doesn't have dyslexia though, so not sure if that makes a difference. He started off as a very slow two-finger typist and is now touch typing at 35 wpm. He does about half an hour a few times a week on it.

It costs about £20.00 and is available through the Apple app store. Not sure if you can get android versions, but presume you can.

He loves it. You can set the wpm to whatever you want or take tests to do a dynamic programme. It has an arcade where you use typing to play various games from shooting lazers to destroy space rubble to fishing and tomb raiding and you get to do a game at the end of each lesson.

We've had some technical difficulties with it due to some complicated designer software on dh's laptop conflicting with it, but I've had a go and it's good fun.

Thank you for your replies, I showed those mentioned to my DC's and we have decided on the Typing Instructor Platinum App. Thanks again.

I was just going to add Englishtype as a recommendation (in case anyone else is looking).
