what you've put looks like a few words from an MRI scan. sorry but in themselves they mean very little. A bit like quoting a line from a book and expecting someone to know what the whole book was about iyswim.

Tell her to ask the consultant what it all means. I probably wouldnt know even if I had the whole text Grin

Quick google search says 'commonly seen in developmentall delayed term infants'.

It's a non specific 'soft' sign that there is an issue, not a diagnosis. So, more of a 'oh, look at that', than a 'that means x and y'. It's not specifically pointing to any syndrome or condition or disability, just noting that it's there, and it's common in developmental delay (which is, I assume, why the MRI was carried out).

Ask for a neuro debrief, don't let the paed do it. They know feck all about brains and can only read what the report says. Which you and your friend have already done.

Having had a look at some of the MRI pics of similar, they are similar to dd2's (who was also term and with gag/ swallow problems and subsequent developmental delay), but no one ever mentioned petrigonal white matter to me. Grin
