disability element of child tax credit

Hi does anyone know if there is an income limit for child tax credit and also the disability element? our son is on high rate care and low rate mobility of DLA.
Husband earning below £26,000 but our household income may just go over that amount now that I have been awarded carer's allowance (I am not working).
Wondering if we will receive the basic child tax credit and the disability element if we go over £26,000? Not been able to get through to the 0191 number it is constantly engaged.

My understanding is that there is no limit. My dh earns more than that and we get the disabled rate of ctc

It is my understanding that dla, mobility and care elements are not subject to income, in otherwords you get them no matter what you earn, not sure about child tax credits.

IIRC tax credits reduce by 41p per £1 of income over £17k (ish) - so there is no cut-off, where it stops automatically, but you get less TCs the more you earn

The disability part of tax credits does get less with income but I don't know where the cutoff is. DLA is not income dependent.

Sorry I can't help but am very interested in this thread as we are in exactly the same position (I've just lost my job). CTC will go down if you claim Carers as well but I don't know by how much. We seem to have been awarded less tax credits since I stopped working so things are going to be very tight for us indeed Sad

It's a nightmare trying to get through to tax credits isn't it Angry

We don't get any ctc apart from the dla elements.

The disability element is added on and decreased as your income goes up. DH earns more than your DH and we still get some child tax credit payments, though we have 2 kids entitled to the disability element.

Also, in receipt of high rate care, there's an extra disability payment on top of the standard disability payment on tax credits. I reckon you'd still get a fair bit.

Bear in mind that you carer's allowance needs to be declared, as that's taxable income, but we still get payments with that accounted for.

This benefits calculator is very good and very accurate.

It does depend on income and how many children you have. Carers allowance does reduce tax credits but you lose less than you gain in Carers Allowance. My partner earns £30,000 and I get carers and we still get tax credits but we have 3 children.

If you earn more than 40k before tach you don't get anything
