LA have been really sneaky with DD2's statement, what can I do?

DD2 (5.2yr) had her AR in June and I have just received the amended statement. All her provision has stayed the same (OT, Physio,SALT) which is great however it has gone from:

"DD2 will receive........." to
"DD2 requires........".

Therefore leaving it open to getting potentionally nothing.

I've gone through the therapists reports and the LA have literally lifted out what they have said, so it stems from the therapists writing 'requires' instead of 'receive'.

Can I really appeal etc over this one word? What shall I do?

TIA

Reject it on the grounds that support should be both specified as well as quantified as required in law. LEAs know the law, its no excuse.

Yes you can reject on account of one word. But first, play innocent. Tell them they have made a grammatical error, point it out, and hope for the best. If it is not changed, ask for finalised and appeal. Statement shoukd remain the same until after the tribunal so you have nothing to lose by not especially rushing this, however, you might want to use being forced to tribunal to ask for more if you get that far.

It's fecking outrageous behaviour though.

Thanks both of you. I just can't believe 1. they did that and 2. that one word makes the difference between definately getting the therapy and maybe getting it.

It's so hard to play their game and win!

I'm trying to put a document together for when I reject DD2's statement. What is the best way to go about getting this word changed? I know the LA will come back and just say she's got the provision so be happy with it.

I feel like I need some sort of proof or evidence but I don't know what.

TIA (again)

If it makes no difference then they won't mind changing it then will they?

Tbh I would run this by SOSSEN.
