Is there any one that could tell me the difference between these please?

Hypotonia is low tone in muscles.
Cerebral palsy is a neurological insult to the brain usually before birth.
It is classified into different types of CP dependent on the distribution of tone.
The types of CP include hemiplegia, spastic diplegia, quadriplegia, athetoid etc.
Hypotonia is one of the classifications.

Thats a very (VERY) rough guide to the differences. Does that answer your question?

Thank you :) My son was diagnosed with Hypotonia and I wondered how this was different to CP as most of the bits that I have found on the internet relate to CP rather than Hypotonia and I wondered how you distinguish between them.

Also I believe hypotonia can either be benign in origin or neurological. Recovery can therefore depend on the cause of the hypotonia.

My dd has CP but she is primarily low toned and building up muscle strength to compensate for the low muscle tone has been the focus of her therapy.
