Aw!

First day back. Ds1 had a shower with minimal angst, and asked if we had any deodorant he could wear. And he left the house with his lunch, pe kit, and assorted school supplies on time for the bus. (ADHD, aspie traits and anxiety)

Dd2 didn't want me to go to the bus stop with her, but in the end I was allowed to, as I explained it wasn't for her, it was for me. Grin (cp) same bus driver

Ds ( 15) has agreed to cut his toe nails. They look like hobbit feet.
Oh ! Oh! and on Sat in central London ( we were diwn for the paralympics) he grabbed his little Sisters (9 nt) arm as she went to step out onto a busy road.
Couldn't blardy believe it!

Littlemissgreen
That is such lovely news! At ds old junior school and dd's current jumior school it is very ofton the same children who seem to get chosen for everything.
Madwoman sometimes it's the smallest smallest things ... But they are huge aren't they? Smile
Well done applepip boy too !

Lovely thread :)

I told DS we were going to the Zoo this weekend, and he started singing 'were going to the zoo'. I cried Blush mainly because he actually understood what I was saying to him, and was able to connect it to the song.

Hi, lovely thread - can I add two (my DD has been on fire this week!) Smile

  1. DD (2.5 with Down's), hearing seems to have got better, so every night when I put her to bed she's been requesting her favourite nursery rhymes (through signs), and when I sing to her she says "yes", snuggles in and strokes my arm until she falls asleep - unbelievably lovely!

  2. She's also finally starting taking a few steps, whilst holding on to mine & DH little fingures (normally for about a minute). We took her to the Paralympics on Friday & she was obviously inspired as she walked (or rather danced) her way the complete length of Britannia way (so about 20 mins!!!!!!) - I did get a few strange looks as I was dancing along with her with tears in my eyes, I was so proud!! Blush

Big woo hoos to all the DC's on this thread so far.Grin
DS (5,ASD) has been at my parents today(starts back at school tomorrow) so I drove him home. When we pull up, a few of the neighbours DC are playing out in the street with parents watching them. Normally DS just ignores them and goes into our house.
Tonight he marches out of the car, walks up to the children, waves and says hello to them. Wow, I think, then he sees a girl on a scooter and chases her down the street, she chases him back up. The girls mum says "let mini Rinky have a go". DS gets on and rides up and down the street, quite a few times.
He crosses the road andgoes in the garden of another neighbour, where her children are playing and says "little girl go on scooter" as she's on the bike. Bless her,she did and they played chase again. Time for all children to come in, I'm fit to burst with his communication, and when I drag him in, he says " play little boy, play little girl, play friends"

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

madwomanintheattic · 04/09/2012 21:47

Aw, these are all lovely!

streakybacon · 05/09/2012 08:05

Some fab achievements here - your children are all doing great Grin.

Ds (13, AS/ADHD) hates public displays of affection of any kind. His English tutor arrived on Monday, telling tales of woe about problems with her bus pass that had made her late. Ds patted her reassuringly on the arm and said "Never mind, you're here now" and I almost fell over! He still wouldn't let me hug him later though, while she was still here Grin.
