have had a wobble today/yesterday about DS2 (8 Autism).

Has had his statement for over a year, is in a good ASD LSC attached to small mainstream and has made progress since being there, good annual review just before end of term.

I will admit to not being on top of things regarding the speech therapy as had my attention on DS1 and the awful year he has had, fighting to get his statement sorted etc. no excuses for not dealing with this I know.

At DS2 annual review was told that none of the children have had reviews or any support from SALT as basically there aren't any.

DS is very vocal and is continuing to make good progress but still has significant receptive Lang difficulties. Did some simple 'wh'

Oops hadn't finished!

questions today, and he is still really struggling and I feel crap that I have let this slide.

Ok I know I need to step up my Lang activities with him, but what do I do about him not receiving any SALt support that is in his statement?

Will dig out the wording on statement in morn but any advise please?

And I totally accept that I have let DS2 down by not sorting this sooner.

If you look at Ipsea website they have sample letters in case support written in Statement is not provided, maybe that's a good start, it's LEA responsibility to endure it is provided. I'm sure other people will have more ideas :) and good luck.

If NHS cannot provide it then LA must pay for it privately.
