Flexi-schooling

My 8yr old (Asperger's & speech disorder) just hasn't found full-time school amenable. For want of putting the truth... Grin

So, going for flexi-schooling, am in Scotland, & realise it's a bit of a 'dependant on head' situation.

If current school don't comply, shall write to others that distance makes feasible.

Anyone negotiated this (Scotland or elsewhere) with a happy outcome?

I've heard of a few in Fife. Contact Edinburgh and Beyond Home Education for advice / support.

Hi, if this is what I think it is (reduced school hours?) then my DD1's school SENCO mentioned that we could consider it if DD found full time too exhausting /stressful. And she said this has happened in the past at our school but I don't know until what age. We are in England though.

Although actually you probably mean home schooling too which I don't know much about.

Flexi schooling is at discretion of the LEA in Scotland. However the LEA should not withhold consent unreasonably. I know quite a few families in Scotland who flexi school.

We have DS at school mornings and ABA home tutors in the afternoon - we are in England. He is entering Yr3 on the same basis in Sept.
