Community Care reports that two computerised cognitive behavioural therapy programmes have been given official backing for the treatment of depression and anxiety. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has recommended the Beating the Blues package for treating mild and moderate depression, and Fearfighter for panic and phobia.

very interesting Davros, thanks for posting that. Also very interesting that they don't recommend the OCFighter OCD computerised package - wonder why? do they feel that people need personal support with the OCD therapy?

i am waiting for an appointment for myself for cbt, does this mean i could 'self help' from home?

discuss it with your GP, SwimmingUphill, as to whether they think it's appropriate for you - I think you have to be referred by your GP to access the computer package.
