I jus started another thread about ' don't know what to do about job', is it worth my while working for just a few weeks and how much can you earn? larsxx

It's 80 quid a week ish! Also chat to them - they can be more flexible than they seem. For a while I worked every other week for 100 quid, alternate weeks for 50 iyswim so 50, 100, 50, 100. They were fine with that because the earnings averaged out below the limit (I rang them).

yes, it's £82 at the moment.

Mad and unfair, considering that you might work but still have to pay someone to do the care...

I've just been filling in the forms: they take some (not all) of your childcare and caring-for-the-disabled person (if that's different) costs into account. They also take into account some (half, I think) of your pension payments. Also deduct any tax, NI etc from your outgoings. After all that, then you can earn £82pw.

I work but my outgoings in childcare + pension are more than my income. I'm having a go at applying, but have no idea whether I'd be accepted - the descriptions of what's allowed are so poor in the leaflets: it really infuriates me when leaflets are so badly written they don't make sense.
