Hi
My daughter is 2 and 6 months and has special needs, she has a severe speech and language delay, autistic tendencies with behaviour issues. Getting out of the house is impossible. As soon as I go out she screams ans screams, I can't get anything done without my buggy and even them it's just getting it done and coming straight home. It makes life very hard. Iv seen the stokke xplory and know it allows ur child to sit higher up and facing towards parent too, as I think it is a mixture of frustration, sensory overload and that she's scared. Is there anywhere I can buy this buggy cheap? Or does anyone have Amy other ideas? Im stuck in my flat all day everyday and need to get out, am willing to try anything
Thank you

Have a look at the Newlife Foundation , they are helping us fund equipment for our son.

Is she too heavy for a sling like an ergogenic a mai tai? (a side or back carry) maybe she would feel more secure if she wasn't separated from you. (my dd did and but I had to stop carrying her by 3 as my back was suffering)

Should have said Ergo or a mai tai... Blummin auto correct.

I don't know if it would come under equipment? And I don't think I could carry her in a sling as I'm only 8st and she becomes aggressive when we go in the shops or we don't go the way she wants to go, she will hit, kick, bite etc and if I carry her in my arms she just ends up hurting me. The pram goes upto age 4 and can be used as a high hair, which is great as it has a 5 point harness unlike the lap belt u get in the ones that u get in most restaurants.
Thank u for ur help xx

I can see what you are saying about having her facing you pink but my dd3 loved her all terrain 3 wheeler. It had a large hood and if the seat was reclined she could hide tucked away inside. It had a window in the back so she could see me if she wanted to.

It was a large buggy with a 5 point harness and D rings to clip her reins in and it lasted until she was 4.5+.

Have a look at all options before you make this expensive purchase.

Good luckSmile

I will be honest and say that the stokke won't last long at her age, they are great but not suitable for larger kids.
I too recommend a mountain buggy, very good, large, easy to push and easy to hide in.

my ds can be very bad when out of the house, thinking it may have been him getting overwhelmed i tried him rear facing in a friends pushchair and it just gave him easy access to nip and kick me :( could you borrow something rear facing from a friend or get something cheap to try first before spending alot on a stokke? have you tried one out?

Not sure a Stokke would be suitabe TBH. They say to 4 yrs but the seat is quite small.

DS2 sounds similar to your DD and he loved the Baby Jogger Ciy Elite as the hood pulled right down covering him from everything going on around him and kept him quite enclosed. Similarly if you don't want something as big, the BJ City Mini has the same hood but more stroller size.
