mine currently at 200 pages and ive not included the appeal yet - just wondered if this was about the average? statement with appendices is over 60 pages and the emrgency review paperwork is 90 pages although lea say school didnt send in enough evidence for them to amend the statement! i need to get the private salt and ed psych reports yet. not going to lodge it until 1st sept as tribunal dont count any day in augusy as a working day but process the paperwork so if i sent it in now it would in effect give the lea more time!

Dunno really. You need to send what you need to send. I used to be of the opinion that you should just send in the very key things to your case, but then my LA sent in every email/letter I'd ever sent about anything, - even 'thank you for your email' emails Hmm

ive copied all my emails - not that many thankfully but to date not a single one has ever received a reply from the lea! will be quite interesting to see what the lea send seeing as they say they havent got enough evidence. in the meetings they do seem to make a lot of notes - at one meeting the head asked the lea officer for a copy of the notes she was making = the lea officer was mortified and refused point blank. i just smiled thinking 'keep making the notes as im going to do a request later to get them anyway!'

The tribunal bundle was 900 pages. Our sollicitors kept trying to keep the evidence to a minimum as we had lots. The LA sent anything and everything they could get their hands on which generally doesn't sit well with the tribunal. I wouldn't worry too much about what you send, things like EP report etc are critical. But if you don't think it is relevant then don't include it. You also don't have to send your evidence with your appeal. When we appealed we only wrote down reasons for the appeal all the evidence was sent the day before the deadline for submissions 4 weeks or so before the hearing which was a strategic decision on our sollicitors part. The LEA did the same but that meant they hadn't seeen our evidence by the time they had to submit theirs. However if you think your case is straightforward then sending the evidence early might mean they negotiate with you early on. We never made it to tribunal they conceded on everything a couple of days before tribunal. Good luck

mines quite a clear cut case - current school state cant meet his needs at emergency review - lea then upped his hours to full time and put in should have access to autism outreach who has yet to see him in 18 months. school said even with full time hours school is not right - he needs a special school. our private ot report states the same - lea now trying to get an nhs report 'for balance' but are taking forever to do it. we have found a school with a place for him starting in sept and it costs £8k a year and yet the lea wont name it - son only in school part time as he is being sick all the time at school due to anxiety. lea cant seem to understand that its the enviroment that means he cant cope and no amount of 1:1 is going to change to that or indeed autism outreach visiting him periodically! so lea have named again a school that cannot meet his needs - its just so wrong - i think they will concede cos they are going to look like idiots at tribunal
