How we play in our house

So today is present day in our house (we don't do bday or Xmas so every year before mine and dh anniversary we have present day) the girls asked for sylvanian families and they got loads. A boat, two house, one big house, two market stalls, nursery, stack loads of families and extras.
Thing is dd1 has been insistent that it's all set up like on the boxes before being able to play! It's taken 3 and half hours before dd2 could touch it!
They have now decided who's is who's and dd2 is under instructions not to talk to her while they are playing. They are only allowed to behave as they would in rl and families are not allowed to mix (dd1 rules)
Just makes me giggle about how different they see the world.
I'm enjoying the peace while it lasts.

They sound as if they have been spoilt!! Perfect!! I bet you have been very busy setting everything up but well worth it to see them playing. Sylvanian is a favourite in our house with my little girl playing concert with them as I write this. Enjoy the rest of your present day.

Ah, sounds like ds1 used to be with his diggers and construction site playmat. He used to take hours to set it all up perfectly according to how the mat was laid out. Had to be the right digger/backhoe loader/dumper/crane etc in just the right spot with the right, pipes/pretend concrete/bricks etc. He wouldn't let ds2 touch it at all while he was setting it up and then when it was all done and ds2 wanted to play he wasn't allowed to move anything 'because that would ruin it'. Poor ds2 loathes diggers to this day. Grin Of course not being about to move it off the living room floor for days on end afterwards and ds having a meltdown if anyone so much as knocked something even a millimetre out of place wasn't so funny. Hmm

Fantastic for you that she set it all up herself - double the peace and quiet and none of the frustration in trying to get things to fit together etc.

Hope they have a great time playing with all their new toys. Smile

^ this is totally how my house is set up. Perfect lego sets, are the main culprit. Right now I have an Axiom complete with Bots, perfectly arranged, a cardboard space model, and a very intricate theatre set up with various Disney characters on stage. I am allowed to touch nothing.

Sounds like they have had a lovely day LisaD, enjoying their toys in their own unique way. Grin
